Welcome to a new episode of "The Busy Brained Saint." Today, we delve into the cognitive distortion of black-and-white thinking and its influence on decision-making within the realms of faith, life choices, and self-perception.

For those aligned with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we draw parallels from The Book of Mormon, including the narratives of Liahona and the Iron Rod, and touch upon the biblical account of the Fall of Adam and Eve.

Our discussion navigates the fine balance between flexibility and rigidity, emphasizing the importance of embracing both in a well-rounded mindset. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by individuals with ADHD, we address the cognitive shortcuts often employed due to mental fatigue, resulting in a sense of dissatisfaction.
This episode meticulously dissects the implications of all-or-nothing thinking and offers practical solutions. Our primary focus is on cultivating awareness as a crucial tool for recognizing and mitigating the effects of this cognitive distortion. Join us for a thoughtful conversation on navigating complexity and fostering a resilient and nuanced mindset.
